Intercooler and Charge Pipe Kit

Unlike the stock intercooler, which quickly heat soaks and causes power loss, this kit keeps temperatures stable even under sustained load. It replaces the factory charge pipes and intercooler with a custom-designed, front-mount unit. The package features powder-coated, mandrel-bent aluminum charge tubes for smooth airflow and durability. The ZZP intercooler core boasts dimensions of 23" x 6" x 4", a substantial increase over the stock core's 24" x 5 1/8" x 2 1/2", allowing for greater cooling efficiency. This intercooler kit is available in two versions. The Standard version includes the intercooler, charge pipes, and all necessary hardware, and it does not require PCM tuning. The Larger Throttle Body Kit includes all components of the Standard kit plus a Sonic larger throttle body. While the larger throttle body itself does not require tuning, a PCM tune or update is advised for optimal performance with this version. This intercooler package fits all trim level Sonic models from 2012 to 2016. For 2017+ models, some trimming of plastics may be required for fitment, although a product update as of June 1, 2021, states that new charge pipes now allow for fitment on RS models without trimming. The kit is also noted to add 10+ horsepower, with more consistent power at Wide Open Throttle (WOT) due to its superior heat management capabilities.
