The Subaru Inter Cooler Assembly (part number 21820AA280) is a genuine OEM replacement designed to restore optimal performance for turbocharged Subaru vehicles. Symptoms such as a noticeable reduction in acceleration or an audible hissing sound during acceleration, particularly when accompanied by a check engine light, can indicate an issue with the intercooler or its connecting pipes and tubes. This assembly is a direct fit replacement, superseding previous part numbers 21820AA186 and 21820AA185. This intercooler is specifically designed for models equipped with a turbocharger and is compatible with the 2002-2005 Subaru Impreza, 2002-2005 Subaru Impreza WRX, and 2004-2005 Subaru Impreza STI, all featuring the 2.0L H4 Turbo engine. Installation may involve procedures such as loosening hose clamps on the air bypass duct to disconnect it from the air bypass valve, as suggested in installation tips for related components.
