The Flyin' Miata intercooler upgrade is designed for the Mazdaspeed MX-5. This intercooler features a core measuring 15" x 8" x 3", offering twice the volume of the stock unit. Its powder-coated finish provides durability and aesthetics, with a thermal property that allows it to shed heat effectively.

Installation is straightforward using the stock Mazdaspeed piping, though a short section needs to be cut from the stock pipes. This intercooler is also used in Flyin' Miata's turbo kits for other Miatas, allowing for economies of scale.

The Flyin' Miata intercooler upgrade is designed to provide lower intake temperatures for the Mazdaspeed MX-5. While not increasing boost pressure directly, the reduction in intake heat allows the ECU to be more aggressive with timing, potentially yielding more power. This intercooler is particularly beneficial when increasing boost levels and generating more intake heat. The new intercooler core measures 15" x 8" x 3", significantly larger than the stock unit's 8.5" x 8.5" x 2.5" dimensions, providing twice the volume. It features a durable, good-looking powder-coated finish with a special thermal property that matches the heat-shedding capability of bare aluminum. The FM logo placement is flexible, allowing it to face forward for visibility or rearward for discretion. A small modification involving cutting approximately 4" from the inlet and 2.75" from the outlet of the stock pipes is required. The larger volume and improved heat dissipation make this a valuable upgrade for performance consistency, especially during extended periods of hard driving. This intercooler is also utilized in Flyin' Miata's turbo kits for standard Miatas, enabling the company to achieve greater production volume and offer it at a lower cost. It is important to note that this product cannot be shipped to California due to emissions regulations. The intercooler comes with a 1-year warranty.
