The Unitronic Intercooler Upgrade Kit is a direct OEM replacement designed for the MK8 GTI and Golf R with 2.0TSI EVO4 engines. It features a massive 23.5" x 2" x 16.5" bar and plate intercooler core made from T5052 aluminum, with T6061 cast aluminum end tanks and TIG welded construction. This intercooler significantly reduces charge air temperatures and is more resistant to heat-soak.

The Unitronic Intercooler Upgrade Kit is engineered for the MK8 GTI and Golf R models equipped with the 2.0TSI EVO4 engines. This direct OEM replacement is designed to support up to 600HP and beyond, offering a substantial improvement in cooling efficiency. The core of this upgrade is a massive 23.5" x 2" x 16.5" bar and plate intercooler, constructed from T5052 aluminum. The T6061 cast aluminum end tanks and TIG welded construction ensure durability and optimal performance. With over 60% more volume than the OEM intercooler, this unit provides a greater capacity for heat exchange, leading to cooler, denser air for the engine and significantly improved resistance to heat-soak. Basic mechanical knowledge and tools are sufficient for installation, which can typically be completed within a few hours. Unitronic also offers related hardware, such as charge pipe kits and silicone intercooler hose sets, to complement the intercooler upgrade.
