Description

The Unitronic Intercooler Upgrade Kit is engineered as a direct OEM replacement for vehicles equipped with 1.8/2.0 TSI Gen3 MQB engines, including the 8Y S3. This kit is capable of supporting 600HP and beyond, making it a substantial upgrade for performance-oriented vehicles. Constructed with a highly efficient bar and plate intercooler core made from T5052 aluminum, the kit features T6061 cast aluminum end tanks and a TIG welded build. Its proprietary internal fin and louver configuration, combined with a core measuring 23.5" x 2" x 16.5", results in over 60% more volume than the factory intercooler. This design drastically reduces charge air temperature, delivering cooler, more dense air to the engine and significantly enhancing resistance to heat-soak. The kit weighs 24.4 lbs and is recommended for use with Stage 1, Stage 1+, and Stage 2 software tunes.
