Intercooler Upgrade Kit

The Unitronic Intercooler Upgrade Kit for the 1.8/2.0 TSI Gen3 is engineered as a direct OEM replacement, capable of supporting up to 600HP and beyond. This kit features a substantial 23.5" x 2" x 16.5" bar and plate intercooler core made from T5052 aluminum, complemented by T6061 cast aluminum end tanks. Its design incorporates a proprietary internal fin and louver configuration, TIG welded for durability, to provide optimal and efficient cooling while significantly resisting heat-soak under any driving scenario. The core boasts 64% more volume than the factory unit, allowing for greater heat exchange and cooler, denser air intake for increased engine performance. The cast aluminum end tanks are precision-designed with tolerances of +/- 0.020” for perfect fitment, closely integrating with OEM mounting points for the radiator/support, A/C condenser, and lines. Attention was also paid to ensure sufficient spacing between the A/C condenser and radiator to minimize unwanted heat transfer. The inlet and outlet designs are optimized for smooth airflow, featuring a bead roll to securely hold the multi-ply silicone hoses. Compatibility with models equipped with an ozone sensor is also guaranteed. Installation is straightforward as it's a direct bolt-in upgrade that installs within a matter of hours with basic mechanical knowledge and tools. The kit includes the Unitronic Direct Fit 1.8/2.0 TSI Gen3 Intercooler Core, Unitronic 1.8/2.0 TSI Gen3 Hose Kit, and a Unitronic MK5/MK6 Intercooler Bolt Kit. Unitronic recommends this intercooler for use with their Stage 1, Stage 1+, and Stage 2 software (if equipped with their 3" Downpipe).
