Intercooler Upgrade Kit

The Unitronic Intercooler Upgrade Kit for the 2.0 TFSI is engineered as a direct OEM replacement, capable of supporting 600HP and beyond. It features a substantial 23.5" x 2" x 16.5" bar and plate intercooler core crafted from T5052 aluminum, complemented by T6061 cast aluminum end tanks. The core is TIG welded and incorporates a proprietary internal fin and louver configuration for maximum efficiency. This kit is designed to combat heat-soak and deliver optimal, efficient cooling under all driving conditions, making it an ideal choice for builds ranging from stock turbo Stage 2 applications to aggressive 500+HP Big Turbo setups on the TFSI engine. The design prioritizes a significant reduction in charge air temperatures for enhanced engine performance, with over 60% more volume compared to the factory intercooler. Key features include a highly efficient bar & plate core, T6061 cast aluminum end tanks with precise tolerances for perfect fitment, and sufficient spacing between the A/C condenser and radiator to minimize unwanted heat transfer. It also includes a CNC machined billet aluminum OEM boost hose adapter and multi-ply silicone hoses with a bead roll for secure connection. This intercooler is a direct OEM replacement, requiring no bumper, radiator support, or other trimming for installation. Hardware included consists of the Unitronic Direct Fit 2.0 TFSI Intercooler Core, Unitronic 2.0 TFSI Hose Kit, and Unitronic MK5/MK6 Intercooler Bolt Kit. Recommended software includes Stage 1, Stage 1+, Stage 2, and Stage 2+ tunes. Unitronic's design process involves in-house 3D scanning and modeling to ensure precision fitment. Back-to-back stress testing on a 2015 VW Jetta 1.8TSI Gen3 demonstrated dramatic reductions in outlet temperatures (IATs). By the end of nine consecutive dyno runs, the Unitronic intercooler showed a reduction of 24°C (43°F) in outlet temperatures at redline compared to the OEM intercooler, with an initial decrease of 17°C (30°F) by the first run.
