Intercooler Upgrade Kit

The Unitronic Intercooler Upgrade Kit is engineered as a direct OEM replacement for the 2.0 TSI MLB engine platform, specifically for B9 A4/A5/Allroad models. This kit features a substantial bar and plate intercooler core with a TIG welded construction, utilizing cast aluminum for the core and end tanks. This results in cooler, denser air for the engine, leading to increased performance and greater resistance to heat-soak. The core offers 79% more volume than the OEM unit, measuring 21.65” x 16.61” x 2.52”. This larger volume allows for greater heat exchange and improved cooling efficiency without creating a significant pressure drop. Unitronic's testing, conducted on a MAHA Chassis Dynamometer with a B9 Audi A4 Allroad, demonstrated substantial reductions in intake air temperatures compared to the OEM intercooler, highlighting its superior cooling capabilities and heat-soak resistance, even under rigorous conditions. Installation is designed to be a direct bolt-on process, retaining factory mounting locations to simplify the job, which is rated at a difficulty level of 3 out of 5 and can typically be completed within a few hours with basic mechanical knowledge and tools. The end tanks are precision-cast with tight tolerances for perfect fitment, and their inlet/outlet design is optimized for smooth airflow, featuring bead-rolled machining to ensure secure charge hose connections. NOTE: This Intercooler Upgrade is not compatible with vehicles that have active grill shutters behind the bumper. Unitronic also recommends specific software upgrades, including Stage 1, Stage 1+, and Stage 2 tunes, to fully leverage the benefits of this intercooler.
