The COMP Cams 83-200-4 High Energy Camshaft is a hydraulic flat tappet camshaft engineered for street and performance use, specifically for International Harvester 304-392 cubic inch V8 engines produced between 1970 and 1978. This camshaft, identified by grind number 252H, offers a 206-degree duration at 0.050 inch lift for both intake and exhaust, with an advertised duration of 252 degrees. It is designed to deliver strong low-end power, enhance torque, and improve fuel mileage, making it an optimal choice for 304 engines, especially when paired with a stock transmission. Constructed from cast iron, this camshaft operates effectively within an RPM range of 800-4,500. It features a valve lift of 0.425 inches for both intake and exhaust and a lobe separation of 110 degrees. While assembly lubricant is included, this product requires the use of separate valve springs and does not include lifters. This camshaft is CARB exempt for foreign vehicles manufactured before 1967 and for racing and off-road only vehicles, provided they meet the tailpipe emission standards for their respective year or are solely for competition use. However, it is not CARB exempt for general on-road vehicles.
