The Icom M85UL is the smallest, lightest, and toughest intrinsically safe handheld VHF marine radio. It's built to MIL-STD 810 and is IP67 waterproof, making it suitable for hazardous environments on land and at sea. It features 100 programmable land mobile channels, a built-in voice scrambler for private communications, and automated emergency alarms (MOB, Man Down, Lone Worker). It covers 136–174 MHz land mobile frequencies in addition to VHF marine channels and provides 700 mW powerful audio. It meets ANSI/TIA-4950-B, ANSI/UL 121201, and UL913 - Edition 8 requirements for intrinsically safe and non-incendive operation when used with the BP-292UL battery pack. Other features include AquaQuake™ to prevent audio degradation, internal VOX for hands-free operation, weather channel receiving, a self-check function, and various scanning features.
