Iridium Power IK22 Spark Plug

The Denso 5310 IK22 Iridium Power spark plug is engineered for enhanced ignition performance. Its core features a 0.4mm iridium-tipped, laser-welded fine wire center electrode, designed to lower the voltage required for ignition and thereby improve firing efficiency. Complementing this is a taper-cut U-Groove ground electrode, which is shaped to boost ignitability while minimizing flame quenching. Construction details include machine-rolled threads to prevent seizing or cross-threading during installation and removal, ensuring a smoother maintenance process. The spark plug utilizes a purified alumina powder insulator for exceptional strength and superior thermal conductivity, crucial for managing high engine temperatures. A five-rib insulator design is incorporated to prevent flashover, maintaining a consistent spark. Furthermore, a copper-glass seal ensures a gas-tight bond between the center electrode and the insulator, contributing to the plug's overall durability and performance. With a 14mm thread diameter, 1.25mm thread pitch, and a 19mm reach, the Denso 5310 IK22 is built for a secure fit. The gasket seat type and 5/8" (16mm) hex size are standard for many applications. This spark plug operates with a specified gap of .031" (0.8mm) and includes a resistor with a value of 5k Ohm. The heat range is rated at 22, with recommended torque specifications of 26-30 lb. ft. for cast iron and 15-22 lb. ft. for aluminum cylinder heads.
