The NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug is a high-performance ignition solution engineered with advanced material technology for modern, high-efficiency engines. It utilizes an iridium center electrode tip for exceptional durability and improved ignitability compared to standard spark plugs, supporting consistent engine performance under varying conditions. Technical specifications include a 12.0 mm thread diameter with a 26.5 mm thread reach and a 14 mm hex size. The plug incorporates a ceramic insulator and a resistor-type design. It is factory pre-gapped to 0.7mm to provide a direct, consistent fit for compatible applications. This design features a square platinum ground electrode to maintain stable ignition performance. For optimal results, NGK specifies that these plugs are pre-gapped and should not be modified, as the electrodes are sensitive to damage. The manufacturer also advises against the use of anti-seize or lubricants on the threads during installation, as this can lead to over-tightening and potential damage to the plug or engine cylinder head. Ensure compatibility with your specific vehicle engine, such as the Mercedes-Benz M270 or M274, prior to purchase.
