Iridium TT Spark Plug

The Denso Iridium TT IKH16TT spark plug utilizes advanced materials and design to deliver superior performance and longevity, offering a service life exceeding 100,000 miles. At its core is Denso's Twin-Tip (TT) technology, featuring the world's smallest 0.4mm iridium center electrode paired with a 0.7mm needle-tip platinum ground electrode. The minimal electrode size reduces spark interference, maximizing ignitability and ultimately contributing to better power output and torque. Construction highlights include Denso's patented iridium alloy with the highest concentration for increased durability. The spark plug features a purified alumina powder insulator, known for its exceptional strength and thermal conductivity, complemented by a five-rib design to prevent flashover. Machine-rolled threads are incorporated to ensure smooth installation and removal without seizing or cross-threading. A crucial copper-glass seal bonds the center electrode and insulator, guaranteeing a gas-tight connection. Specifications for the IKH16TT include a 14mm thread diameter, 1.25mm thread pitch, 26.5mm reach, and a 16mm hex size. The electrode gap is set at 0.039" (1.0mm), and it features a solid terminal type. The center electrode is made of fine-wire iridium, while the ground electrode is made of fine-wire platinum. It is a resistor-type plug with a value of 5k Ohm. Torque specifications vary depending on cylinder head material: 26-30 lb. ft. for cast iron and 15-22 lb. ft. for aluminum.
