IRON BIG M PRO STEEL

The Dart Big M Pro Series Iron Block (Part Number 31283635) is a cast iron engine block designed for Big Block Chevy applications. It features a +.600" raised cam location, .904 lifter bores, spread oil pan rails, and bore sizes up to 4.600". It is designed to accommodate crankshaft strokes up to 5.500" for large displacement applications. Key features include four valley head stud bosses to prevent head gasket failures, true priority main oiling, a stepped main oil gallery, and an oil crossover at the front of the block. It uses steel 4-bolt main bearing caps, with splayed outer bolts on the three center caps and vertical bolts on the front and rear caps for oil pan clearance. The rear main bearing cap uses a standard two-piece crankshaft seal. The block is compatible with stock components, including provisions for a block-mounted oil filter, mechanical fuel pump, and stock water pump. Coated cam bearings, freeze plugs, and dowel pins are included.
