The Burger Motorsports JB4 is a plug-and-play performance tuner designed to enhance the power and responsiveness of Kia and Hyundai 1.6L Turbo Smartstream 4-cylinder engines. This advanced tuning system connects directly to your vehicle's sensors, working in conjunction with the factory ECU to remap boost, timing, and fueling strategies, thereby increasing horsepower and reducing turbo lag for a more exhilarating driving experience. Unlike simpler performance chips, the JB4 offers sophisticated functionality. It features a fully programmable CANbus system that considers numerous real-time data points, including pedal input, throttle position, gear selection, engine speed, air/fuel ratio, fuel trims, ignition advance, and knock detection, to optimize performance mapping. The tuner is also equipped with upgradable firmware and data logging capabilities, allowing for continuous improvement and detailed performance analysis. Its safety features are noteworthy, including the ability to maintain low boost pressure until oil and water temperatures are optimal for engine and turbo lubrication, and a progressive reduction in boost if the engine overheats, runs lean, or excessively knocks. The JB4 provides multiple performance maps, selectable on the fly via a smartphone adapter or diagnostic cable. These maps cater to different fuel types, including 91 octane, 93 octane, and E85 ethanol blends, ensuring versatility and optimal performance across various conditions. Specifically, this JB4 V3 tuner is compatible with the following vehicles equipped with the 1.6L Smartstream® Turbo 4-cylinder engine: Kia models including the 2019+ Kia K5, and Hyundai models including the 2020+ Sonata, 2021+ Elantra, 2022+ Kona, and 2022+ Santa Cruz. It is crucial to identify your vehicle's sensor type; this JB4 (V2) is for vehicles with white Smartstream sensors, while a different version (JB4 V1) is available for those with black Lambda sensors.
