The Burger Motorsports N54 JB4 Performance Tuner is a sophisticated plug-and-play device engineered to enhance the performance of BMW N54 engines. It functions by installing between the vehicle's sensors and the DME/ECU, allowing it to manipulate performance parameters for increased speed. This tuner is designed to be the first and only modification needed to unlock significant power potential, with claims of up to 100hp and 100tq to the wheels on a stock vehicle, and even greater gains on modified setups. Installation is described as quick and plug-and-play, with no need for ECU unlocking or flashing. The JB4 tuner offers a range of features including multiple on-the-fly selectable performance maps for various fuel types, a stock bypass map, valet mode, and support for E85 ethanol blends and progressive water/methanol injection. It also provides advanced diagnostics, capable of reading and deleting fault codes, and logging up to 40 engine parameters. Additional features include boost-by-gear control for improved traction, exhaust flap control on supported vehicles, and compatibility with the JB4 Mobile app for wireless data analysis and map changes via iOS and Android devices, or Windows laptops with a BMS data cable. The JB4 is constructed with a billet aluminum enclosure and is designed and assembled in the USA, backed by a 5-year warranty. It is not VIN-locked, making it easily removable and transferable between vehicles. This tuner is noted to improve 0-60 and quarter-mile times, run as smoothly as stock during normal driving, and requires 91 octane or better for optimal performance gains. However, this item is not CARB exempt and is not legal for sale or use in California. This performance tuner is specifically designed for a wide range of N54-powered BMW models, including the 1 Series (2008-2010 E82/E88 135i, 2011 E82 1M), 3 Series (2006-2010 E90/E91/E92/E93 335i including xDrive, 2011-2013 E92 335is), 5 Series (2008-2010 E60/E61 535i including xDrive), X Series (2008-2010 E71 X6 xDrive35i), and Z Series (2009-2016 E89 Z4 sDrive35i and sDrive35is).
