JB4 Water/Methanol Injection Kit

The Burger Motorsports (BMS) JB4 Water/Methanol Injection (WMI) kit is engineered to significantly enhance power output for Gen 2 B48 and B58 BMW engines. This system functions by injecting a mixture of water and methanol, which provides substantial cooling to the intake charge. This cooling effect allows the engine to produce more power than achievable with high-octane pump gas or even E85, offering benefits similar to running 100 octane race fuel continuously. Integration with the JB4 tuning system is a key feature, enabling sophisticated control over the WMI system. The kit utilizes data from the JB4's CANbus system—including boost pressure, throttle position, engine speed, intake temperature, ignition advance, and gear selection—to precisely manage methanol injection. A pump flow signal is also fed back to the JB4, allowing for smooth, progressive boost mapping. Safety is paramount; if the water/methanol tank runs empty or flow is compromised, the JB4 will automatically reduce performance to prevent detonation. Boost is carefully managed to avoid tip-in knock, a common issue with non-integrated WMI setups. The BMS WMI kit comes complete with a custom-designed 3.5-gallon stealth tank that fits discreetly in the trunk cavity of G20/G22 chassis BMWs. An optional billet throttle body adapter is available for easier installation of dual nozzle kits. Vehicle fitment includes the 2020-2023 B58 G20 BMW M340i, the 2019+ B48 G20 BMW 330i/330e, the 2021+ B58 G22 BMW M440i (requires modification), and the 2021+ B48 G22 BMW 430i.
