JD250/1 Monoblock Class D Subwoofer Amplifier

The JL Audio JD250/1 is a monoblock Class D subwoofer amplifier that redefines value with its performance and efficiency. Utilizing JL Audio’s proprietary NexD™ switching technology, this amplifier delivers exceptional fidelity with very low noise and distortion. This high-speed switching technology ensures outstanding efficiency, leading to reduced current draw and heat, which allows for reliable high power output within its compact chassis. It is specifically optimized for subwoofer applications, offering a bandwidth of 7 Hz - 500 Hz. The JD250/1 is equipped with a complete signal processing package, including a 12dB/octave low-pass filter that is non-defeatable and features fully variable frequency selection from 50 Hz to 200 Hz. It also includes an adjustable 0 to +12 dB Bass Boost EQ centered at 45 Hz, and has the capability for remote level control when used with an optional RBC-1 controller. The amplifier provides a maximum of 250W RMS power into a 2-ohm load, with 200W RMS into 3 ohms and 150W RMS into 4 ohms. Noise rejection is a key feature, thanks to the dual-range, differential-balanced inputs. These inputs minimize noise and maximize compatibility with a wide range of signal levels, accepting both line-level and speaker-level signals (up to 8V RMS) from factory systems without needing a separate line-output converter. The amplifier also offers automatic turn-on capabilities via signal-sensing or DC-offset sensing. For setup simplification, an integrated LED clipping indicator provides accurate visual feedback of the output clipping level, and separate LEDs indicate overall status and condition. The unit requires 8 AWG wire for power and ground connections and has a 30A fuse rating.
