JE FSR Forged Piston Set, 1.8T 20V

The CTS Turbo JE 1.8T 20V FSR Piston Sets are a complete set of JE forged pistons engineered for all 1.8T 20V Turbo engines, suitable for daily driving, road racing, drag racing, and competition use. These pistons are built to endure significant performance punishment, designed to withstand acceleration forces exceeding 8000 G's and directional changes over 200 times per second. JE's advanced FSR forging technology is employed, featuring an asymmetrical skirt design that reduces mass and friction-induced wear. This design strategically places a larger, stronger skirt on the side of the piston that bears the brunt of the side loading during high-pressure combustion, while the opposite skirt is smaller for weight savings. FSR pistons maintain a full-width wrist pin and robust pin bosses to handle the loads of turbocharged engines, preventing wear and ovaling. To mitigate in-cylinder noise often associated with lightweight pistons, these feature an offset pin for quiet operation. Each piston undergoes strict quality control and a 23-point post-production inspection to ensure precise finish and tolerances in critical areas. Optional upgrades include JE's Tuff Skirt coating for enhanced lubricity and anti-wear properties, and a Thermal Barrier Crown coating to reflect heat back into the combustion chamber, improving scavenging and extending piston life. The set includes JE wire locks, Pro Seal piston rings, and standard JE wrist pins, with no dish deburring required. Each piston is individually serialized for complete traceability, and all critical surfaces are machined in a dedicated Critical Manufacturing Cell. Note that the JE FSR design may require modification or spacing of oil squirters for clearance on some 1.8T blocks. These pistons are intended for use with 20mm wrist pin connecting rods.
