Jetfire Stage 1 Turbocharger

The KC Turbos Jetfire Stage 1 Turbocharger (300021) is engineered as an upgraded replacement for 2004.5-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke engines. This turbo is specifically designed for owners who tow heavy loads and desire quick spool-up, enhanced power, and improved performance without the significant lag often found in larger Stage 1.5 or "pmax/S2" style turbos. It is optimized to work effectively with stock injectors and is also compatible with 155cc injectors, though it may not clean up the top end with 175cc injectors on a heavy race tune. Key features include a billet 61x88 GTX style compressor wheel with extended tips measuring 93mm and a 73x64mm turbine wheel available in either 10 or 13 blades. An upgraded 360-degree thrust bearing is incorporated for improved durability and longevity. The installation is designed to be a 100% drop-in, requiring no modifications to the vehicle. For optimal performance, a custom SCT tune is highly recommended to complement the new turbocharger. It is important to note that the turbo mounting style is based on the 2004-2007 models; installation on a 2003 pedestal may require modification by cutting off the third mounting bracket on the back of the turbo. KC Turbos also advises caution regarding exhaust brakes, as some brands may cause clearance issues, hinder performance, or rub against the turbine wheel due to their flapper-style operation, which can create extreme back pressure and is not recommended for the turbo or motor.
