JL Audio 6x9" 2-Way Full-Range Speaker

The JL Audio C1-690x speakers are engineered to deliver substantial audio performance and are designed for straightforward installation, fitting easily behind factory grilles. At the heart of these 6x9-inch, 2-way speakers are component woofers that benefit from JL Audio's advanced FEA modeling and extensive experience in low-frequency driver design. This results in a speaker capable of producing high volume with exceptional clarity, dynamic range, and minimal distortion. The construction includes a proprietary stamped steel frame and a DMA-optimized motor system. The cone is made from mineral-filled, injection-molded polypropylene, suspended by a rubber surround and a flat Conex spider to precisely control voice coil movement. These features, typically found in higher-end loudspeakers, ensure durability and prevent issues like buzzing. Complementing the woofers are true, edge-driven aluminum dome tweeters, which set these speakers apart by offering superior high-frequency definition and clarity. The tweeter's design provides excellent off-axis response and extended high-frequency range. Further enhancing sound quality and power handling, the tweeter incorporates a silk surround, Ferrofluid damping in the voice coil gap, and a robust neodymium magnet circuit, all managed by a 2nd order high-pass filter. Installation is made simpler with included spacer/adaptor rings, allowing for compatibility with bottom-mount applications. The C1-690x speakers handle 60W RMS and are recommended for use with amplifiers ranging from 10-100W RMS per channel, boasting an efficiency of 91.5 dB @ 1W/1m. Their frequency response ranges from 39Hz to 22kHz ±3dB.
