The RockJock Johnny Joint Differential Housing Kit replaces the rubber front differential housing upper control arm bushings on your Jeep TJ, LJ, XJ, MJ, or ZJ vehicle with Johnny Joint rod ends, allowing for maximum articulation of the front suspension. This kit is ideal for those using Johnny Joint control arms, completing the package by making all control arm mounting points Johnny Jointed for increased articulation. The 1/2-inch bolt option is generally used in racing applications or for heavy-duty setups. The kit includes a machined Johnny Joint insert for the driver’s side of the differential, a weld-in tombstone bracket with a Johnny Joint for the passenger’s side, 1/2-inch greasable bolts for both joints, and an installation tool. RockJock's Johnny Joints are known for their durability and high articulation, featuring a smooth steel ball pivoting inside a proprietary urethane shell, providing over 30 degrees of quiet, shock-dampening articulation without the excessive deflection of soft rubber-based flex joints. They ensure a smooth on-road ride and ultimate off-road capability. The joints are fully greasable via zerk-fitted bolts. The finish includes clear zinc plating on the insert-style Johnny Joint and raw, weldable steel on the tombstone bracket. **Note:** Cutting and welding equipment are required for installation. Drilling is required to enlarge control arm bolt holes to 1/2 inch from the stock 10mm. Johnny Joints require non-synthetic, hi-moly lube grease.
