Overview

The Johnson Lifters 2116LSR is a set of 16 hydraulic roller lifters designed for GM LS and LT engines. These race-style lifters feature a tie-bar system that replaces the factory plastic lifter guide trays for improved durability and performance.

Each lifter is constructed from cold-forged steel with a precision-ground needle roller bearing. They are engineered with a controlled leak-down and pump-up design to maintain stability at higher RPMs.

The Johnson Lifters 2116LSR is a high-performance hydraulic roller lifter set engineered for LS and LT engine platforms. These lifters feature a proprietary tie-bar system, eliminating the need for factory plastic lifter guide trays, which provides increased structural integrity in performance-oriented builds. The set includes 16 lifters with a 0.842-inch diameter and a total plunger travel of 0.093 inches. Built for demanding applications, these lifters utilize a cold-forged steel body that is heat-treated for exceptional wear resistance. The design incorporates a high-flow, disc-style quick-reacting check valve and a precision-ground needle roller bearing with a high-chromium steel axle to minimize friction and ensure long-term reliability. Internal precision oil metering is included to provide consistent lubrication to the rocker arms without compromising overall engine oil pressure. These lifters are specifically for engines not equipped with DOD (Displacement on Demand) or AFM (Active Fuel Management) systems. They are compatible with a wide range of GM V-8 configurations, including LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7, LS9, L92, and LQ9 engines. The recommended preload for this set is 0.035 inches plus or minus 0.005 inches. Please note that these are intended for non-DOD/AFM applications only.
