The VIS Racing JS style carbon fiber hood is engineered for Mazda RX-8 2-door vehicles manufactured between 2004 and 2012. This hood is crafted from 100% ISO-certified, Grade-A carbon fiber material, bonded with a high-grade epoxy resin. It is finished with an ultra-clear, UV-protective polyurethane coating to ensure a lasting, high gloss appearance. The manufacturing process involves a two-part design with a one-piece, smooth underside shell that is fused to the top layer, enhancing structural integrity and durability. The edges are meticulously hand-smoothed for a premium finish. VIS Racing has also introduced the Vacuum Infusion Process (V.I.P.) for many of their carbon parts, producing components that are 10-20% lighter and more durable. This hood is transitioning to utilize the V.I.P. process for improved performance and longevity. Installation of this hood requires the use of hood pins, as the intended uses of these products may vary. It is important to note that these products are generally intended for off-road use only, unless local and state laws permit otherwise.
