K-Pro D17 Programmable ECU

The Hondata K-Pro D17 is a programmable ECU package specifically designed for 2001-2005 Honda Civics equipped with a manual transmission and the D17A1 or D17A2 engine. This system offers a significant upgrade over the stock ECU, enabling full control over engine parameters and allowing for features like VTEC engagement on engines that were not originally equipped with it. The package includes a modified RSX ECU with a new Hondata K-Pro4 system, a USB cable, and the Hondata Kmanager software, which comes with pre-loaded basemaps for both D17 VTEC and non-VTEC engines to facilitate initial setup. This ECU features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing for wireless datalogging and tuning from a laptop or real-time engine data display on iOS or Android devices using the Hondata Mobile App. Depending on the specific Civic model year and O2 sensor configuration (wideband or narrowband), minor wiring adjustments may be necessary for rear O2 sensor operation or closed-loop functionality. For race vehicles, most OBDII features can be disabled, and the D17 knock sensor must be disabled within the KManager software. The K-Pro ECU can also be matched to the vehicle's immobilizer system. Crucially, the installation of this application REQUIRES either the Hondata D17A cam gear or a D17A Kpro signal converter, which are sold separately. The stock D17 engine's cam and crank signals are not compatible with the RSX ECU without one of these essential components, and the engine will not run without their installation. The cam gear features modified timing teeth, while the signal converter modifies the signals to ensure compatibility.
