K-Pro D17 Programmable Engine Control Unit

The Hondata K-Pro D17 is a programmable engine control unit designed for 2001-2005 Honda Civics equipped with a manual transmission and a D17A1 or D17A2 engine. This unit enables VTEC functionality on engines that lacked it from the factory and provides a wide range of tuning possibilities, including adjustments for idle speed and IAC duty cycle. It includes basemaps for both D17 VTEC and non-VTEC engines within the K-Manager software to facilitate initial setup. Installation requires either the Hondata D17A cam gear or a D17A Kpro signal converter, as the D17 engine's cam and crank signals are not compatible with the RSX ECU used in this package; the engine will not run without one of these separately sold components. The K-Pro also supports real-time datalogging and displays engine information, with Bluetooth connectivity allowing for wireless data transfer to iOS or Android devices via the Hondata Mobile App. Specific installation notes apply depending on the O2 sensor type. 2004-2005 Civics and 2001-2003 Civic HX models use a wideband O2 sensor, requiring two wires to be moved for rear O2 operation. 2001-2003 DX, LX, and EX Civics use a narrowband O2 sensor and necessitate modifying the K-Manager software and potentially disabling OBD II for closed-loop operation. This ECU package is for off-road use only. The D17 knock sensor must be disabled in the K-Manager software as it is incompatible with the K-Pro. Error codes and OBDII readiness status can be datalogged, and the K-Pro ECU can be matched to the Civic's immobilizer system. Most OBDII features can be disabled for race vehicles.
