K-Pro ECU Package D17A

The Hondata K-Pro D17A ECU Package is a performance-oriented engine control unit designed to provide full programmability for the 2001-2005 Honda Civic equipped with a D17A1 or D17A2 engine and a manual transmission. This package features a modified RSX ECU integrated with the Hondata K-Pro4 system, allowing for comprehensive tuning through the Kmanager software. It enables the use of VTEC on engines that originally lacked it and offers advanced adjustments, such as an IAC duty cycle slider for optimizing idle speed and addressing rev hanging problems. Installation requires either the Hondata D17A cam gear or the HA Motorsports D17A Kpro signal converter, as the D17 engine's cam and crank signals are not compatible with the RSX ECU. The engine will not operate without one of these essential components, which are sold separately. This system includes a clear ECU cover with the Hondata logo, a USB cable for connection, and the Hondata Kmanager software, which contains basemaps for D17 VTEC and non-VTEC engines to facilitate initial setup. While not real-time updateable, most table and setting changes can be uploaded rapidly via USB. The K-Pro ECU can be matched to the Civic immobilizer system and allows for disabling most OBDII features for race applications. Note that the D17 knock sensor is incompatible and must be disabled within the KManager software. Bluetooth connectivity is included for wireless datalogging and tuning via laptop, smartphone, or tablet using the Hondata Mobile App. Specific wiring adjustments are noted for 2001-2003 DX/LX/EX models with narrowband O2 sensors and 2004-2005 DX/LX/EX models with wideband O2 sensors.
