K-Pro ECU Package for Honda Civic D17A1/A2

The Hondata K-Pro ECU package is a high-performance tuning solution for the 2001-2005 Honda Civic equipped with a D17A1 or D17A2 engine and a manual transmission. This package replaces the stock, non-programmable ECU with a modified 02-04 RSX ECU featuring a brand-new, serialized Hondata K-Pro4 system. It installs directly into the factory ECU location using the original connectors, offering full tuning capabilities through the Hondata Kmanager software. This ECU package includes the specially prepared RSX ECU, the K-Pro4 system, a clear ECU cover with a Hondata logo, a USB cable with a 90-degree end for easy installation, and the Hondata Kmanager software. Basemaps for both D17 VTEC and non-VTEC engines are pre-loaded within the software to facilitate a quick start. Additionally, this package comes with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling wireless datalogging and tuning from a laptop, or direct display of engine information on iOS or Android devices via the Hondata Mobile App. Crucially, this application requires the separate purchase and installation of either the Hondata D17A cam gear or the HA Motorsports D17A Kpro signal converter. The D17 engine's cam and crank signals are incompatible with the RSX ECU, and without one of these components, the engine will not start. The cam gear features modified timing teeth, while the signal converter modifies the signals for RSX ECU compatibility. Both are sold separately. Application notes detail specific wiring adjustments for different 02 sensor types (wideband or narrowband) found in various 2001-2005 Civic models to ensure proper closed-loop operation. For race vehicles, most OBDII features may be disabled. It is noted that the D17 knock sensor is incompatible and must be disabled in the KManager software.
