K-Pro4 Programmable ECU System for D17 Engine

The Hondata K-Pro4 is a programmable ECU system for the 2001-2005 Honda Civic with D17A1 or D17A2 engines and manual transmission. This system includes a hardware modification to a donor K-Series ECU, a specially modified cam timing wheel, and the Windows-based KManager software for reprogramming and data logging. Base maps for D17 VTEC and non-VTEC engines are provided to facilitate initial setup. Installation requires the use of either the Hondata D17A cam gear or a separate D17A Kpro signal converter, as the D17 engine's native cam and crank signals are not compatible with the RSX ECU. The engine will not operate without one of these components. The D17 knock sensor is incompatible and must be disabled within the KManager software. The K-Pro ECU can be matched to the Civic's immobilizer system. For 2004-2005 Civics and 2001-2003 Civic HX models, which use a wideband O2 sensor, two wires need to be moved for rear O2 operation. Earlier 2001-2003 Civic DX, LX, and EX models use a narrowband O2 sensor, and two wires must be moved for closed-loop operation. Most OBDII features can be disabled for race vehicles.
