KC300x Gen 3 Stage 3 Turbocharger

The KC Turbos KC300x Gen 3 Stage 3 Turbo is engineered as a direct-fit upgrade for early 1999 Ford Powerstroke 7.3L engines, aiming to significantly enhance performance. This turbocharger boasts a completely redesigned Gen 3 7x7 SXE style compressor wheel featuring extended tip technology and advanced aero for quicker spool-up. It is complemented by an SXE style turbine wheel with a thicker shaft, all housed within redesigned compressor and turbine housings. The updated housing specifications include a 0.70 AR compressor cover, a departure from the original 1.0 AR, featuring a revised map groove, anti-surge ring, and volute shape. The 0.91 AR turbine housing also represents a modern design, chosen for its superior flow path, volute shape, and material density compared to previous 0.84 and 1.0 AR options. This combination is proven to deliver faster spool and increased top-end power. Internally, the KC300x utilizes a reliable journal bearing system that has been upgraded to accommodate 200% larger thrust bearings and wider, taller journal bearings. An upgraded steel thrust insert replaces the aluminum backing plate, ensuring consistent expansion rates and more stable turbocharger function under extreme conditions. The bearing housing and backing plate design have been reinforced for improved rigidity and reduced deflection. This turbo is recommended for use with 238/80 to 250/100 injectors; smaller injector sizes may perform better with the KC Turbo KC300x G3 Stage 2. The turbocharger is designed to fit directly into 7.3 equipped pick-up trucks. However, modifications to the turbo intake boot and down-pipe are necessary for fitment in 7.3 equipped vans. This turbocharger will not fit OBS trucks without modification. Furthermore, KC Turbos cannot guarantee fitment with all variations of aftermarket parts such as fuel systems, plenums, or piping kits.
