The KC Turbos KC300x Stage 1 Turbo is engineered as a 100% drop-in replacement for 1994-1997 Ford F250 and F350 trucks equipped with the 7.3L Powerstroke engine. This journal bearing turbo utilizes a 63mm 7x7 SXE style compressor wheel with extended tip technology and a 70mm SXE style turbine wheel, housed within a 4-inch ported housing that includes an anti-surge design for high flow. The turbo also features a high-flow, deleted EBPV outlet flange. This turbo offers two housing options for tuning to specific needs: the 1.0 A/R housing is recommended for cooling Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGTs) above 3000 RPMs, making it suitable for dedicated tow rigs and daily drivers. For those seeking quicker spool and cooled EGTs below 3000 RPM, the .84 A/R housing is the preferred choice. The product comes complete with all necessary gaskets and o-rings for installation, as well as a new 4-inch intake boot. Modifications may be required for proper fitment in 7.3L equipped vans, specifically to the turbo intake boot and down-pipe. For optimal performance, KC Turbos highly recommends upgrading your up-pipes, the EBPV pedestal, and running a Hydra Programming Chip. It is important to note that certain exhaust brake brands may encounter clearance issues or hinder performance when used with this turbo, and their use is not recommended due to potential hard-on-turbo and motor stress.
