The Kent Cams KCFR33 camshaft is engineered for fast road and rally applications, specifically designed for Ford SOHC Pinto engines equipped with carburetors. This performance camshaft aims to enhance engine output, providing an approximate 22bhp increase for modified road engines. This camshaft typically installs without requiring significant head modifications, but it is crucial to check valve spring clearances. The power band for this camshaft is rated from 3000 to 7500rpm. Detailed specifications include an inlet valve lift of 0.463" and an exhaust valve lift of 0.450", with a duration of 300° on the inlet and 297° on the exhaust, measured at a 0.010” / 0.25mm checking height. Timing figures are noted as 42/78/74/43, with inlet timing at 108° ATDC and inlet valve lift at TDC at 0.118". Recommended valve clearances are 0.010" for the inlet and 0.012" for the exhaust. The KCFR33 camshaft is not suitable for OE Ford injection systems. It is compatible with a range of Ford vehicles including the Capri Mk1/Mk2/Mk3 2.0 (1972-1987), Cortina Mk3/Mk4/Mk5 2.0 (1970-1982), Escort Mk1 RS2000 2.0 (1973-1974), Escort Mk2 RS2000 2.0 (1975-1980), Granada Mk1 2.0 (1973-1977), Granada Mk2 2.0 (1977-1985), Granada/Scorpio Mk3 2.0 (1985-1989), Sierra 2.0 (1982-1989), and Transit Mk2/Mk3 2.0 (1978-1994), as well as the TVR Tamsin 200 2.0. Installation may benefit from specific related parts such as followers (FT1010PH), valve springs (FT415 or VS41), a spray bar (FT1059), and adjustable cam pulleys (FT310A, FT311E series).
