They feature advanced metallurgical and geometric technologies to handle extreme loads, especially those using forged steel aftermarket crankshafts under sustained high stress. These bearings are constructed with an enhanced tri-metal layering of copper-lead, nickel plate, and a lead/tin/copper Babbitt overlay over a steel backing.

The XP-Series bearings maintain extremely tight wall thickness tolerances, precisely controlled to +/- .0001 inches. They are also narrowed on the crank cheek side and feature increased crush height. This design improves bearing-to-bore contact, enhances heat transfer, and helps reduce spin potential in high-rpm conditions. These rod bearings are sold as a set of 4 and are noted for use with models equipped with an Opel DOHC engine.
