Whether you buy an electrically operated winch complete or retro-fit the compact electric motor/controller unit, the electric EVO® provides improved sail control. Lewmar electric winches are available with 2 levels of control: E series and ELS. Both are fitted with a series wound motor allowing the sheet to be recovered rapidly at low load when sheets are slacker, and slows down as load increases. E-Series controller features a thermal trip. In addition to a thermal trip, the ELS Control Box cuts power when the winch reaches its Working Load Limit (WLL). Power resumes once the load returns below the WLL. The Lewmar EVO 55 Self Tailing 24V electric winch kit revolutionizes sail handling, making it simpler and more efficient than ever. Featuring one-button power, it offers silent motorization for a smoother sailing experience. What's more, it can be used in manual mode with two manual speeds in addition to its electric speed. Easy installation makes it a practical addition to any boat. The winch has a working load of 1480 kg. This self-tailing model enables a single crew member to maneuver the rope efficiently, whereas on a conventional winch it often takes several people to maintain tension and wind the rope correctly. It offers greater control over rope tension, which is essential for fine-tuning sails to suit wind conditions. This model is supplied with the ELS relay, which allows the winch to be operated up to its maximum working load. Once this current is exceeded, the winch stops automatically. When the current drops below the winch's working load, the winch can be restarted. The ELS box features the additional safety function of the thermal circuit breaker, which guarantees motor shutdown in the event of overheating.
