The steel shock bodies are electroplated with zinc for added corrosion protection against the elements. The system employs a high-pressure monotube design, which separates oil and gas within the cylinder. This design enhances heat dissipation, allows for finer damping adjustments, and results in more consistent ride quality compared to traditional twin-tube constructions. Most applications, including this kit for the Volkswagen Passat (1989-1997 B3/B4 FWD), feature an adjustable lower mount. This design allows for significant height adjustability (2-4 inches) without compromising suspension travel, a common issue with other coilover systems. The spring rates for this specific kit are 8.7 kg/mm in the front and 5.3 kg/mm in the rear. Top mounts in both the front and rear reuse the OEM top mount.
