Compared to the Kontrol Pro coilover, the Kontrol Sport features valving and spring rates that are 30% stiffer for a more performance-oriented feel. Construction highlights include monotube shock bodies, which enhance heat dissipation, allow for finer damping adjustments, and ensure more consistent performance than twin-tube designs. The steel shock bodies are electroplated with zinc to provide robust protection against corrosion and rust. Components such as spring perches, locking collars, and top mounts are crafted from 6061 billet aluminum with T6 treatment for increased hardness and reduced weight, contributing to the system's durability. The kit utilizes adjustable lower mounts on most applications, enabling ride height adjustment without compromising suspension travel, a common issue with other coilover systems. Pillow ball top mounts are incorporated in many applications, improving steering feel and response while some models offer independent camber adjustment, potentially eliminating the need for a separate camber kit. For applications with separate rear shocks and springs, ride height is adjusted via the spring, with adjustable lower mounts on the rear shock to set the correct shock stroke. All Ksport coilovers come with a 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturer defects.
