The 27WON Kuro turbocharger represents a significant upgrade for the K20C1 engine, targeting the 10th and 11th generation Honda Civic Type R (FK8/FL5), the DE5 Integra Type S, and is also confirmed to fit 2018+ Accord 2.0T models. This unit is a 100% brand new, direct-fit replacement, eliminating the need for a core charge or lengthy downtime. It boasts a precision-machined, 8+0 count point-milled compressor wheel that is nearly 12% lighter than traditional flank-milled designs, allowing for increased airflow and quicker transient response. The turbine side features a high-grade Inconel 9-blade wheel, chosen for its exceptional resistance to extreme temperatures and chemical corrosion, ensuring durability under demanding conditions. At the core of the Kuro turbocharger is a TD04 ceramic ball bearing (BB) CHRA, a substantial improvement over the OEM journal bearing (JB) system. While the JB is adequate for stock power levels, the BB CHRA offers increased reliability, reduced oiling requirements to prevent leaks, and the ability to handle more sudden and abrupt load changes, making it ideal for aggressive driving and track use. The Kuro turbo maintains perfect OEM-like fitment, reusing factory water, oil feed, and oil return lines, and retaining all heat shields for a clean, stealthy installation. In testing on a full bolt-on FK8 CTR with a street MAF and catted downpipe, the Kuro turbo achieved a peak torque gain of 34 wtq and carried an additional 54 whp at redline compared to another aftermarket drop-in turbo.
