The Texas Speed & Performance L83 V2 Stage 3 camshaft offers a significant performance improvement for Gen V 5.3L L83 and L8B engines, producing a dyno-tested increase of 71 hp and 21 ft-lbs of torque at the crank. This updated V2 iteration utilizes redesigned lobes to achieve higher power levels with lower lift than previous versions, resulting in quieter valvetrain operation and reduced stress on valve springs. Installation of this camshaft requires significant supporting modifications. A DOD/AFM lifter delete is mandatory, as this cam does not retain factory cylinder deactivation functionality. Additionally, a VVT phaser limiter kit must be installed to maintain correct piston-to-valve clearance. The use of a TSP dual .660" spring kit is required, and an aftermarket torque converter with a 2800-3000+ stall is highly recommended to support the cam's operating range of 1800-6400 RPM.
