L86 5.3L DI Intake Manifold and Throttle Body Swap Kit

The Gwatney Performance L86 Intake Manifold and Throttle Body Swap Kit is engineered for 2014 and newer GM trucks equipped with the 5.3L DI engine, enabling the installation of the larger L86 6.2L intake manifold and throttle body. This upgrade addresses discovered airflow restrictions in the stock 5.3L setup, offering a performance enhancement by utilizing the larger-dimensioned components from the 6.2L engine. During testing on a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado with a 5.3L DI engine, this swap resulted in noticeable gains. The stock L86 manifold alone added +9 RWHP and +6 RWTQ. After porting the L86 manifold, the gains increased to 17 RWHP and 9 RWTQ compared to the ported L86 manifold. The peak horsepower also shifted approximately 300 RPMs higher with the swap. Installation involves swapping the intake manifold and throttle body. While it is a tight fit for the factory plumbing to the airbox, adjustments can be made. A throttle body relearn procedure is recommended with GM or most scan tools to reset the learned blade position for optimal idle function. This kit is not legal for use in California or other states with similar emissions laws and regulations.
