The Flyin' Miata Level 2 Performance Clutch is engineered for high-power Miata builds, featuring a new friction disc design with a thinner disc and lower profile marcel spring to reduce pedal throw and the need for frequent adjustments. This clutch is built to handle serious power, with a manufacturer rating of 353 lb-ft of torque at the crank, making it ideal for turbo and supercharged cars with built engines. The friction material is a durable steelback copper woven organic compound. This Level 2 clutch is intended for "Serious HP" cars; the brand recommends sticking with a Level 1 clutch if the vehicle does not have 300 hp or more. Pedal effort is substantial due to its robust design. Installation includes a clutch switch over-ride, pilot bearing, throwout bearing, and alignment tool. Flyin' Miata strongly recommends replacing seals during installation, particularly the rear crank seal, and suggests using their specific installation tool. For 5-speed transmissions, a transmission input gasket is required, while 6-speed transmissions do not need it. This clutch fits 1990-1997, 1999-2005, and 2004-2005 MSM models. It is specified as 1.8 size only, but can be used on a 1.6 with a 1.8 flywheel. Flyin' Miata cannot guarantee fitment with engine swaps, though it is possible if a stock clutch would work. A 90-day warranty is included.
