The moving parts in the LF BPV have less inertia due to their low weight, allowing for faster response than heavier components in other bypass valves. It features a Banjo-fitting vacuum port with 360-degree adjustability for easier hose routing and fewer leak points compared to NPT ports. The piston o-ring seal is twice the diameter of the previous design for increased seal compression and reduced wear.

Its updated design features a 30% reduction in control volume, enabling extremely fast venting of boost when actuated. Precision manufacturing and innovative engineering result in a compact package that fits into tight engine bays. Due to the low weight of its components, the LF BPV's moving parts have less inertia, allowing for a faster response compared to bypass valves with heavier components. This updated design incorporates a Banjo-fitting vacuum port that offers 360-degree adjustability for hose routing, simplifying installation and minimizing potential leak points. The new design also includes a piston o-ring seal that is twice the diameter of the old design, providing greater seal compression and reduced wear. The spring and seal design no longer requires spring seat adjustability. It provides a 60% increase in clamping force at peak boost while maintaining similar operation at idle and transient loads. This bypass valve is legal for sale and use on emissions-controlled vehicles in all 50 states, with California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order numbers D-660-9, D-660-36, and D-660-83. This bypass valve is compatible with 2002-2007 Subaru WRX, 2004-2021 Subaru STI, and 2006-2008 Subaru Forester XT models.
