The Turbo Time USA Lightning Bolt Performance VGT Solenoid is engineered to optimize the performance of Variable Geometry Turbos (VGT) in 2003-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke engines. Unlike fixed geometry turbos, VGTs can dynamically adjust their size to act as a smaller charger for quicker takeoff response and open up to provide the airflow of a larger turbo as boost and RPMs increase. It aims to achieve power gains through efficient boost production from the turbocharger, rather than by altering VGT vane percentages or forcing frequent transmission downshifts that raise engine RPMs. The Lightning Bolt Solenoid is not recommended for use with products like "pedal commanders" or "throttle boosters" that manipulate throttle system percentages, as these can create an artificial "in the seat" feeling while reducing efficiency and may conflict with the solenoid's operation. It is also not advised for use with tuning that restricts VGT vane percentage ranges or causes the transmission to downshift aggressively for response. Such tuning can lead to a Check Engine Light (CEL) with codes like "over-boost" or "exceeding learn limit" due to conflicts with the solenoid's intended full-range operation. This product is not legal for sale or use in California. Vehicle fitment is specific to the 2003-2007 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke.
