Constructed from high-strength chrome-molybdenum (SCM440H) steel, this flywheel offers a substantial reduction in both unit weight and inertial weight compared to standard OEM flywheels. The unit weight is 6.88 kg (OEM: 9.65 kg), and the inertial weight is 1.738 kg/cm²/sec² (OEM: 2.904 kg/cm²/sec²). This weight reduction leads to a more direct clutch feel, especially when paired with a solid metal disc, and offers a significant advantage in reducing torque loss at low speeds while simultaneously improving throttle response at higher RPMs. The flywheel also features ring gear chamfering, similar to OEM parts, to ensure smooth engagement with the starter motor pinion gear. Nismo recommends using this lightweight flywheel with their Sports Clutch Kit (3000S-RSR20-E) for optimal performance, though it can be used with the OEM clutch layout. Parts included with the flywheel are flywheel bolts and a press-in dowel pin.
