Lightweight Flywheel

The JHM R Series Lightweight Flywheel is a high-performance, single-mass component crafted from Chrome-Moly for superior strength and durability. This strategically lightened flywheel is stronger, safer, and offers better thermal capacity than OE cast flywheels. Its one-piece Chromium Molybdenum forging is more robust than billet steel, aluminum, or cast iron, ensuring fewer opportunities for failure and promoting efficient heat transfer to prevent warped friction inserts or loose ring gears. It is CAD-designed, CNC-machined, and dynamically balanced for precision and quality. Key features include a chatter-free design, easier engagement from a stop compared to aluminum flywheels, and improved launch momentum. The integral ring gear is induction-hardened for maximum longevity, and the material is optimally distributed for strength, heat dissipation, and reduced inertia. The flywheel meets SFI Spec. 1.1 certification. Weighing in at 15 lbs, the JHM R Series Lightweight Flywheel is 11 lbs lighter than the OEM 26 lbs unit. This reduction in weight contributes to quicker engine response and better acceleration. The flywheel comes with an OEM pilot bearing pre-pressed and includes 8 OEM flywheel bolts. Note that this flywheel requires the appropriate pressure plate, such as the JHM B6/B7 S4 Clutch/Lightweight Flywheel Combo, to function correctly. Flywheel to crankshaft bolts must be torqued to 65 ft lbs with loctite. This product is specifically designed for the B6-B7 S4 models.
