Limited Slip Front Differential

The Wavetrac Limited Slip Front Differential is engineered to enhance grip and performance for select Volkswagen models with the 02A 5-Speed Manual Transmission. This differential utilizes a patent-pending wave design within its center pack to create internal load during zero or near-zero torque conditions, ensuring continuous drive to the gripping wheel rather than behaving like an open differential. This advanced design automatically increases the bias ratio when traction is low and seamlessly reverts to a nominal ratio during normal driving, offering the benefits of both a high-bias and a standard differential. The internal gears are constructed from high-strength 9310 alloy steel, and the differential bodies are machined from case-hardened steel billet. High-strength ARP® fasteners are used exclusively to complete the robust construction. The unit is designed and manufactured in the USA and includes a limited lifetime warranty. Furthermore, the Wavetrac differential's behavior can be customized. It comes standard with carbon-fiber bias plates for balanced performance. Interchangeable friction plates, sold separately, allow for fine-tuning of the bias ratio based on specific driving needs and torque loads. This feature provides a unique level of control over the differential's response. Fitment is specific to the Corrado, Golf 3, and Jetta 3 models equipped with the VR6 engine and a 5-speed manual (5MT) transmission.
