LNC-2000 Launch Controller and Timing Retard Device

The Lingenfelter LNC-2000 is an adjustable RPM limiter and timing retard controller, often referred to as a 2-step or launch controller. In turbocharged applications, the LNC-2000 can retard timing to build more boost at the line. It also functions as an adjustable individual cylinder RPM limiter, offering reliable, fast-acting spark-based engine RPM control. This feature is particularly beneficial for vehicles with auxiliary fuel control systems, ensuring both the factory ECM/PCM and auxiliary systems cut fuel simultaneously to prevent lean conditions and potential engine damage. The timing retard capability allows for up to 15 degrees of timing adjustment. This can be activated via a dedicated input for nitrous oxide applications or controlled by boost level through a 3-bar MAP sensor input for turbocharged and supercharged engines. The timing retard function can be used independently or in conjunction with the launch control RPM limit. It is important to note that while often called a 2-step controller, the LNC-2000 features only one RPM limit setting. Therefore, the factory ECM/PCM must be used as the maximum engine RPM limiter. The RPM limiter function operates by disabling spark to individual cylinders. The LNC-2000's 2-step/launch control function is not intended for street use or for vehicles equipped with catalytic converters, as it can lead to premature catalyst failure. Prolonged operation with the RPM limit active should be avoided due to the risk of backfiring from raw fuel in the exhaust.
