LNF Stage 2 Performance Camshafts

The ZZP LNF Stage 2 Performance Cams are designed for LNF powered vehicles, offering a significant upgrade over stock camshafts. With 224 degrees of intake duration and 0.438 inches of intake lift, and 218 degrees of exhaust duration with 0.420 inches of exhaust lift, these cams were used in a 10-second ZFR powered Cobalt and produced over 700 whp with a 62mm turbo. A key feature of these Stage 2 cams is the inclusion of a .050 larger fuel pump lobe. This enhancement is crucial for direct-injection engines like the LNF, which rely on a mechanical high-pressure fuel pump driven by the intake camshaft. The larger lobe increases the fuel pump's stroke, allowing it to maintain higher fuel pressures needed for increased fuel demands, particularly when running E85, leading to substantial horsepower gains as demonstrated in testing where peak horsepower increased from 395 to 474 on E85. Installation of these performance cams requires careful attention to detail. Taller lash adjusters are included in the kit, and the stock TTY camshaft bolts must be replaced with upgraded, reusable bolts. It is also necessary to replace the valve springs and retainers. For optimal performance and reliability, especially when operating above 7k rpm, removing or replacing balance shafts with neutral balance shafts and upgrading to an ATI balancer is recommended. Proper timing chain and gear setup by a knowledgeable mechanic is critical to avoid poor performance or severe engine damage. It is important to note that these cams are specifically for LNF heads and will not work with LDK heads; LHU version cams are required for LDK heads due to a longer exhaust cam.
