The Quik-Latch QL-38L-LP is a locking push-button release hood pin kit designed to offer a balance between the QL-25 Mini Quik-Latches and the larger QL-50 series. Developed with the import performance market as a focus, these hood pin kits provide the expected push-button functionality from Quik-Latch Products while maintaining the significant holding capacity necessary for hood pins. The reduced physical size of the QL-38 series kits allows for a clean and subtle integration with your vehicle's overall aesthetic. Constructed from robust materials including 6061 T6 Aluminum and 303 Stainless Steel, the QL-38L-LP is built to withstand the demands of performance applications and resist rust over time. Each latch is rated for a holding force of 500lbs, ensuring your hood remains securely in place. This specific model features a machined aluminum finish, offering a refined appearance. The QL-38L-LP kit is designed for a direct fit and features a push-button release mechanism for convenience. Key specifications include a latch body thread size of 1 1/8 x 24 UNEF and a required mounting hole size of 1.25 inches. The pin dimensions are a 3/8" ball with a 3/8 x 24 thread, and the retaining ring has a .50 inch OD. Installation requires a minimum distance from the top of the mounting surface to the mounting point of 1.125 inches and a maximum of 3.50 inches, with a maximum mounting angle of 18 degrees. The pin needs .687 inches of engagement into the latch to secure.
