The Hedman 78050 long-tube headers are engineered for a precise fit on 1966-1974 Mopar A-Body vehicles equipped with 273-360 cubic inch Chrysler LA engines featuring the inline port pattern. Constructed from durable mild steel, these headers utilize smooth-flowing, CNC mandrel-bent tubes that are hand-welded for uniformity. Hedman's signature gasketless ball and socket collector design simplifies installation by accommodating slight misalignments in your existing exhaust system. These uncoated headers feature 1-5/8 inch primary tubes and a 3-inch collector, designed to enhance exhaust flow and unlock additional horsepower and torque from your Chrysler LA engine. They are compatible with factory air conditioning, power steering, and both manual and automatic transmissions (though modification to the shift linkage may be necessary for automatic transmissions). The package includes the headers, gaskets, header flange bolts, and collector bolts; no separate collector gasket is required. It is important to note that these headers are not legal for street use on 1975 and later model years and are intended for off-road use only. They are specifically designed for Chrysler LA engines and are not compatible with the A318 engine. These headers ship from the factory with a temporary black paint finish that will burn off during operation; optional silver or black ceramic-metallic finishes are available for enhanced durability and heat resistance.
