The Hedman Hedders 88300 are standard-duty, uncoated, mild steel long-tube headers meticulously handcrafted in the USA. These headers utilize CNC mandrel-bent tubes for smooth flow and are hand-welded for consistent quality. The unique gasketless ball and socket collector design simplifies installation by accommodating minor exhaust system misalignment. The 1-5/8 inch primary tube diameter and 3-inch collector are designed to optimize exhaust flow for Ford Windsor block engines, aiming to produce significant horsepower and torque gains. These headers are constructed from 16-gauge mild steel with a 0.31-inch flange thickness and feature an oval cylinder head port shape. They are compatible with both manual and C4 automatic transmissions. Air conditioning and power steering systems are also compatible, though specific brackets (#20120) may be required. The package includes all necessary mounting hardware, gaskets, and reducers (2-1/2 inch outlet size). Fitment is specific to a wide range of iconic Ford and Mercury models from 1964-1977, including the Mustang, Falcon, Ranchero, Torino, Maverick, Fairlane, Cougar, and Comet, when equipped with 260-302W engines. It's important to note that for 351W engine swaps, the Hedman 88660 header series is recommended. These headers are not compatible with column-shifted automatic transmissions or manual transmissions on 351W engines. Furthermore, these headers are not street legal for 1975 and later model years; they are intended for off-road use only. Hedman Hedders backs these headers with a Limited Lifetime Warranty on construction and a five-year warranty on the factory-applied header coating. While these headers ship with a temporary black paint, other finishes like silver or black ceramic-metallic, and stainless steel construction are available in different series.
